Introduction
Swanlands Cottage is one of two self catering
barn conversions on our working dairy farm. Swanlands Cottage has
been graded under the National Accessible Scheme to level M2
- typically suitable for a person with restricted walking ability
and for those that may need to use a wheelchair some of the time
and can negotiate a maximum of three steps.
We have tried to give as much information as possible in this statement,
but please contact us if you have any queries, we are happy to help
and look forward to welcoming you.
Pre-Arrival
• All guests are provided with written
directions to the cottage
• There are no regular public transport links to/from the
village
• The closest bus/train station is Tewkesbury(Ashchurch) -
approx. 4 miles or Cheltenham - approx. 7 miles
• Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose will deliver if you are
registered
• The closest shop mobility is in Cheltenham
• An accessible taxi is available from Tewkesbury on 01684

• This access statement is available on our website and in
the 'Welcome Information' folder in the cottage and is available
in different font sizes upon request
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• A designated parking space is available
with level access to the cottage. The entrance is reached following
the side of the cottage with an unobstructed width of min 125cm
• A drop off point is also available with level access to
the cottage. The main car park has space for 3 cars (shared with
Hazelgrove Cottage) and is laid with loose stone . There are 2 steps
down to a patio then a further 2 steps down with handrail to the
front door.
• The car park is lit at night by a movement sensor light
Main Entrance & General Information
• Guests are met on their arrival
and keys are handed over. Additional keys are available on request
• All guests are given a familiarisation tour of the cottage
• The front door is 79cm wide and the keyhole lock is 108cm.
The threshold is 8cm
• The front door opens into the main lounge/dining/kitchen
area. There is a large mat inset into the floor
• All light switches in the cottage are at a height of 114cm
and power sockets are at a height of 45cm
• All the door ways in the cottage are 84cm wide
• Swanlands Cottage is level through out with laminate flooring
in the living/dining/kitchen area, beige 100% wool carpet in the
bedrooms and non-slip ceramic tiles in the bathrooom
• On the dining table is the 'Welcome Information' folder
which has all the details about the cottage and surrounding areas
Dining/Kitchen/Living area
• The main living space is open plan
with plastered walls, exposed beams and brickwork
• There are two 3 seater sofas, both of which are moveable.
The seat height is 42cm
• The TV/DVD is 14"wide with a remote control and access
to Teletext. A Freeview box and CD player are also available
• The dining table has an under space of 62cm and blocks are
available to raise the height of the table. There are 4 armless
dining chairs available
• The kitchen is L-shaped. The base units are 90cm high, the
wall units are 130cm and the worksurface is 90cm deep.
• The fridge has a freezer compartment and is freestanding
under the worktop
• The hob and double oven are electric and are at base unit
height. The grill door pulls down and the oven door opens outwards.
Above the hob is an extractor unit
• There is a microwave on the work surface
• Crockery, glasses and cups are located in the wall
cupboards and can be moved upon request. Pots and pans are located
in the base units
Laundry
• There is a standard size, front
loading washer/dryer provided in the kitchen at base unit height
Bedroom 1
• There is a wooden framed king size
bed. The height of the bed is 60cm. All bedding is cotton or polycotton
with non feather pillows and quilt
• The space to the left of the bed is 190cm wide
• The space to the right of the bed is 80cm wide
• There are two separate reading lights available on each
side of the bed
Bedroom 2
• There are two wooden framed single
beds, each have one side against a wall. The distance between the
beds is ??cm All bedding is cotton or polycotton with non feather
pillows and quilt
• There is one reading light available between the two beds
Bathroom
• The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.
• There is an unobstructed floor space of 120cm x 90cm min
• The bath is 49cm high and has holding rails inset into the
bath sides. There is a hinged shower screen. A bath board is available
•The hand basin is 83cm high with a mirror over. The shaving
socket is located above the mirror at a height of ??cm
• The toilet seat is 42cm high. A raised toilet seat/frame
is available.
• There are horizontal and vertical hand rails in the bath and by
the hand basin
• There is a wall mounted heated towel rail and an electric
heater mounted over the door
Grounds and Gardens
• There are two steps measuring 125cm
w x 35cm d x 20/22cm h with a hand rail either side up to a grassed
patio area with garden furniture. A BBQ is available for guests.
• There is a garden located to the left of the car park where there
is a rotary clothes line available and children's play equipment
• Guest are welcome to explore the farm and surrounding fields

• Mobile phone reception varies from network to network. There
is a phone available in the cottage upon request
• Pets are not allowed (assistance dogs excepted)
• There is an interconnecting fire alarm in all rooms with
a flashing light
• For the comfort of all of our guests the cottages are strictly
non-smoking
